QUESTION: What does it mean when some say, “All will be judged alike?”

ANSWER: In referring to the Judgment Day (See Matthew 25:31-46), John said in Revelation 20:12, “And I saw the dead small and great stand before God; and the books were opened.” The words “small and great” convey the idea that no matter what position is held in this life; no matter how great; no matter how educated; no matter how much money, we all (presidents, kings, religious leaders, farmers, housewives, and laborers) will be judged in exactly the same way. Certainly, this is the case, because “God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34). All people will be judged solely by the words (New Testament) of Christ (John 12:48) with consideration to the things they have done in the body (while in this life), whether it be good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10). Those who disobeyed the New Testament while in the body “shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous (obedient) into life eternal” (Matthew 25:46).
