QUESTION: What is the meaning of Good Friday?

ANSWER: It is a religious holiday initiated in the fourth century and “kept” by the Catholic Church and the Protestant denominations in memory of Christ’s death on the cross. It is neither scriptural nor appropriate for the child of God to so do.

Faithful Christians are authorized and commanded to remember the death of their Lord on the first day of every week as they partake of the elements that represent His shed blood and broken body, i.e., the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 26:26-30; Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:23-29).
