IS ONE CHURCH AS GOOD AS ANOTHER

I.   If you are seeking a wife - is one as good as another.
2.  If you are boarding an airplane for Europe - is one as good as another.
3.  If you are needing a doctor - is one as good as another.
4.  If you are taking medicine - is one as good as another.
5.  If you are making an investment - is one as good as another.

Why are people so careful about material things, yet so careless about Spiritual matters?

We ask--IS ONE CHURCH AS GOOD AS ANOTHER?

I.  NOT UNLESS ONE GOD IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
    A.  Because different religions have different gods- Buddhism, Shintoism, etc.
    B.  But there is one God - Eph.4:6; Matt.4:10.

II.  NOT IF WE HAVE TO BELIEVE IN CHRIST AS THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD.
     A.  Because some do not believe in Christ.
     B.  But the Sonship of Christ is necessary - John 8:24.

III.  NOT UNLESS ONE FOUNDER IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
       A.  Different churches started by different individuals.
             1.   Joseph Smith - Mormons.
             2.  Mary Baker Eddy - Christian Scientist.
             3.  John Wesley - Methodist.
             4.  John Smith - Baptist.
      B.  Jesus is the founder of the church of Christ - Matt.16:18.
      C.  Churches founded by men cannot be as good as the one founded by Christ -Matt.15:13.

IV.   NOT UNLESS THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IS UNIMPORTANT BECAUSE CHRIST'S        
        CHURCH WAS PURCHASED BY HIS BLOOD - Acts 20:28.
        A.  Any church not purchased by the blood of Jesus cannot be as good as the one that was     
              purchased by Christ's blood.

V.  NOT UNLESS CHURCHES NOT MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE ARE AS GOOD AS THE   
      ONE MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE.
      A.  Church of Christ mentioned - Matt.16:18.
      B.  Congregations - Rom.16:16.
      C.  Surely, churches not mentioned in the Bible cannot be as good as the one mentioned.

VI.  NOT UNLESS ONE HEAD IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
       A.  Different churches have different heads.
       B.  Christ is head of the church mentioned in the Bible - Eph.1:22-23; 5:23.
       C.  The church with Christ as its only head, is unquestionably better than any church with      
          a human head.
VII.  NOT UNLESS ONE FOUNDATION IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
        A.  Upon this rock - Matt.16:16-18; 1 Cor.3:11; Eph 2:20.
        B.  The one founded upon Christ is better than any not founded upon Him.

VIII.  NOT UNLESS WORSHIP IS UNIMPORTANT.
         A.  Because different churches have different kinds of worship.
         B.  But one worship is not as good as another - John 4:24; Matt.15:9.

IX.  NOT UNLESS ONE DOCTRINE IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
       A.  Because different churches have different doctrines.
       B.  One doctrine is not as good as another - Gal.1:6-10; 2 John 9-11.

X.  NOT UNLESS ONE WAY IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
      A.  Matt.7:13-14.
      B.  John 14:6.

XI.  NOT UNLESS ONE CREED AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
       A.  Different churches have different creeds.
       B.  But the Bible only is the church of Christ creed - 2 Tim.3:16-17.
       C.  The Bible is better than any human book.

XII.  NOT UNLESS ONE BAPTISM IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
        A.  Only one baptism - Eph 4:5; Mark 16:16.

XIII.  NOT UNLESS ONE NAME IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER.
          A.  Acts 11:26.
          B.  1 Peter 4:16.
          C.  Better than any human name.
