THE CHURCH THE LORD BUILT
                  Ps.127:1; Matt.16:18; Heb.8:2

I.  THE CHURCH IS DURABLE.
     A.  Dan.2:44.
     B.  The words kingdom and church represent the same thing - Matt.16:18-19.  If they are not   
           the same thing, the Lord built His church, but gave the apostles the wrong set of keys.
 
II.  THE NUMBER HE BUILT.
      A.  Prophecy speaks of it in the singular.
            1.  Isa.2:2-3.
            2.  Ps 127:1.
      B.  The N.T. verifies the number spoken of by the prophets.
            1.  Matt.16:18 - my church.
            2.  John 10:16 - one fold.
            3.  Eph.1:10 - together in one.
            4.  Eph.2:16 - one body.
            5.  Eph.4:4 - One body.
            6.  Col.3:15 - one body.
      C.  The scriptures mention churches of Christ - Rom.16:16.
            1.  The seven churches of Asia - Rev 1:11.
            2.  These were not different churches with different names and creeds and practices.
            3.  They were the same church in different location.

III.  CHRIST IS HUSBAND.
       A.  This "one" church is the bride of Christ.
             1.  Rev.21:9.
             2.  Christ is not guilty of polygamy...He is not a bigamist... The church should wear His   
                  name...She is scripturally and honor bound to do so.  If your not willing to wear His    
                  name how can you be His church or bride.

VI.  THE TRUE CHURCH OF CHRIST DOES NOT:
        A.  Have a "reverend" as the preacher.  Ps.119:9.  Nor a "father" Matt.23:9.  Nor a "rabbi"    
              Matt 23:8.
        B.  Worship with the mechanical instrument of music - Col.3:16; Eph.5:19; Heb.2:12.
        C.  Do missionary work through a Society or super organization - Eph.3:10; Phil.4:15-17.
        D.  Resort to all kinds of gimmicks, sales, promotional schemes, etc, to support the church.
        E.  Constantly demand gifts but teaches a free will giving into the treasury - 2 Cor.9:7.

V.  HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE LORD'S CHURCH.
      A.  Gladly receive the word - Acts 2:41.
      B.  This leads one to do the following:
            1.  Believe - Heb.11:6.
            2.  Repent - Acts 2:38.
            3.  Confess - Matt.10:32.
            4.  Baptized - Acts 22:16; 2:38; Mark 16:16.

VI.  THE DIVINE CREED.
        A.  The true N.T. Church, is governed by the N.T.  It is true that the whole Bible is the word 
               of God but the N.T. is the complete will of God for the church today - 2 Tim.3:16-17.
        B.  We are forbidden to take from or add to it - Rev.22:18-19; 2 John 9-11.
